Alta Verde is a low-income housing project in Breckenridge, CO that will offer 80 workforce housing units, ranging from one to three bedrooms. The project shall include a total of three (3) two-story walk-up apartment buildings with interior corridors. On-site amenities will include a leasing office, fitness areas, laundry room, a community room with kitchen, and electric charging stations.
Given and Associates is providing the HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical design for the project, which includes a split system all electric heat pump the HVAC design. The project will be certified by the Zero Energy Ready Home (ZERH) program and will achieve a Net Zero Energy designation. To reach Net Zero, the project will install about 650 kilowatts of photovoltaic solar panels. In addition to the 650 kilowatts of solar photovoltaics on the property, the project will include efficient building design that employs best practices from Zero Energy Ready Homes, passive house strategies and Enterprise Green Communities.
